Angel – With the announcement of Charisma Carpenter coming to Salt Lake Comic Con, Buffy the Vampire Slayer should be moved up last week’s list. This week, we can add Angel to the list. When Angel moved out of Sunnydale, he ended up with Cordelia Chase. Carpenter is a star, and she brought her awesome character to the show. The best part about Joss Whedon’s creations is that characters were allowed to grow, and yet, they never went so far as to become unrecognizable.
Dollhouse – Wait. How did Dollhouse not make it to the top 10 last week? Another Joss Whedon creation; this one features Eliza Dushku in a butt-kicking role that changes with each assignment, at least until she has to bring down the syndicate that she is working for.
Power Rangers – Between this and Breaking Bad, choose Jason David Frank. Yes, the show is mega campy. Yes the show is cheesy, but at least the fight scenes aren’t terrible, and Frank is a great supporter of Salt Lake Comic Con if his frequency as guest is any indicator of such.
Breaking Bad – I haven’t seen it because I do not appreciate the anti-hero. If I want to be depressed about the state of the world, I will join my stepdad and watch Fox News blow things way out of proportion while that there have been three studies done that have shown that people who watch Fox News are actually less informed than people who do not seek out any news source at all.
Drugs are bad, and even if you are trying to do something for your family, drugs are still bad. (I feel the same about Weeds, even though I have a crush on Mary Louise Parker since she did Legalese.) All of that said, a lot of people really like Breaking Bad and Giancarlo Esposito is in it. Also, I haven’t seen it, so it could be something way different than I suppose it is.
Speaking of shows I haven’t seen: there are a couple of other TV Shows on Netflix that I will cover in the next installment. I am pretty much an animation snob, so my knowledge on anime and other shows that are not Disney is limited to whatever my niece and nephew have taken me to see or what I got to see for free as a movie critic. I may not be able to watch the full series, but I should be able to get one or more episodes for some of the series that will be relevant to Salt Lake Comic Con 2014.
